Whether you’re a parent, professional or referring agency, you may have questions about our services, referral process and how family time is supported at MiKontact. We’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help you better understand our approach, service availability and the support we provide to children and families. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, our friendly team is always available to discuss your individual circumstances and answer any further questions you may have.

We accept referrals from Local Authorities, Solicitors, Cafcass, the Family Courts, Independent Social Workers and private individuals. Our team can advise on the most appropriate service based on the needs of the child and family.

Yes. MiKontact is proud to be accredited by the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC), demonstrating our commitment to delivering safe, professional and child-focused services. NACCC accreditation provides assurance that our policies, procedures, safeguarding practices and service delivery meet nationally recognised standards. Families, professionals and referring agencies can be confident that all family time sessions are delivered within a framework that prioritises the welfare, safety and wellbeing of children while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and accountability.

MiKontact provides family time, supervised contact and family support services across Weston-super-Mare and the wider North Somerset and Somerset region. We regularly support families in Weston-super-Mare, Worle, Yatton, Congresbury, Nailsea, Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge, Clevedon, Bridgwater, Cheddar and Portishead.

We also accept referrals from professionals and families further afield, including Bristol, Taunton and Wells. Depending on the needs of the referral, services can be delivered from our Family Contact Centre in Weston-super-Mare, within the local community or at other agreed locations. If you are unsure whether we cover your area, please contact our team who will be happy to discuss your requirements.

Our Family Time Workers are experienced practitioners holding a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Working with Parents and are supervised by a Senior Registered Social Worker. We utilise a strengths-based, child-focused approach in all our work.

Yes. Where required, we provide professional, quality-assured reports detailing observations, interactions, safeguarding concerns and outcomes from family time sessions. Reports can be shared with parents and professionals as agreed.

We aim to respond to referrals promptly and can often arrange services within a short timeframe, subject to availability and receipt of the required referral information.

Yes. We offer both centre-based and community-based family time sessions, allowing contact to take place in locations that are appropriate to the child’s needs and agreed care plan.

Yes. We operate seven days a week, including evenings, weekends and Public Holidays, enabling us to accommodate the needs of families and referring agencies.

Yes. Our experienced team regularly works with families involved in care proceedings, safeguarding concerns, high-conflict separation and complex contact arrangements. We tailor our approach to the specific needs and risks identified within each referral.
